Eleri Pound is a composer and harpist currently based in Leeds. She moved to Leeds from Cardiff in 2001 to study for a BSc in Music with Mathematics, followed by a PhD in Composition with Dr Mic Spencer and Dr Kia Ng, exploring the use of numbers in compositional structures and the creation of a microtonal triple harp. Eleri now works in the University of Leeds in research administration while also continuing to compose, teach and play the harp.
Following her Leverhulme Artist in residence award a performance of Circles 9 took place in the School of Mathematics. The recording of this performance is now available here.
Eleri will be presenting a paper on Circles 9 in the 5th International Conference (CHAOS2012) on Chaotic Modeling, Simulation and Applications (http://www.cmsim.org/) in June.
